Best 1440p monitor with following specs
1ms
144hz+
25-27 inch
Under 450$
No matter where I look, I always find a fatal flaw in the monitor I want. It seems no matter which one I review there’s a detrimental issue.
Anyone have a monitor that meets these specs with very good reviews ? I was leaning towards the ASUS vg27aq till I read 10+ reviews on horrible backlight bleed.

So you haven’t demonstrated any of the monitors you’ve wanted? You can’t go off of reviews alone monitors are definitely a more opinionated item. For instance i would of never picked up my viotek ultrawide had i went off reviews i found. However they have awesome warramty policy and the monitor has been excellent so far and a great upgrade.
What monitors have you looked at so far?

asus vg27aq, Dell s2721dgf, MSI mag 27qc, and all of LGs 1440p 1ms monitors

Id go with the dell or asus. In that order because dell has great support. And i have an asus panel that has been great as well.

yeha I’ve owned two asus monitors that are great, but the vg27 has a shit ton of backlight bleed reviews and I play in primarily dark rooms. The dell has measured up to be my top choice but research will continue

have a vg27 TN 1080p 144hz and it is great for FPS gaming. Have not noticed any backlight bleed and still fairly colour accurate for other applications

I just got M27Q 27″ 2K 170Hz, backlight bleed is not terrible in my model.
Since backlight bleed is unavoidable on normal LCD, it’s just about manufacturing luck mostly I think

Dell S2721 DGF. 27”, 165 hz, 1ms, around $380 on sale. Uses LG panels but fine tunes them so it’s better than right from LG.

this seems like a super solid option, most reviews look great except the odd bad panel. Ticks my requirements and has great YouTube and written reviews. Thanks for the suggestion I will dive deeper into research later on today

I cant remember the exact model but I bought a 1440p 144hz 1ms 27″ monitor for around £250-£300.
All I know is that it’s an AOC curved monitor, it’s been perfect for me.

read about a lot of issues with backlight bleed, screen flickering, and reliability for that model. Is that just statistics as in there will always be people with issues?

literally no matter what there will always be people with issues with every single display, even more so the lower the budget.

also this particular monitor is fantastic, people complaining about backlight bleed are complaining about the elevated blacks and slight edge bleed that impacts every IPS display, some people are more sensitive than others to noticing it and those are typically the ones that complain. There is no perfect display, or they would only make one. IPS will give lifted blacks but phenomenal colours, VA gives deep blacks but bad viewing angle and DSE, TN gives lifted blacks and washed colours but stellar smooth motion. Within these general guidelines there are further caveats within quality of the panel types and image processing, number of backlight zones, etc, etc, etc.

when you say “a lot” how many is that? Because I see over 7,000 reviews there and the overall is 5 stars. And you gotta figure if they’re shipping out that many units of course there’s going to be a few lemons. Just return it and get another one.

I’m just super nit picky when spending hard earned cash. I think I’m just letting the small amount of bad reviews make me paranoid
