One question I have is should I have flashed my bios im upgrading from a am3 motherboard with ddr3 ram.
Another question I’ve been watching a video where a guy with the same setup has smooth gameplay at medium to high settings but I can’t seem to have a decent game I’ve tried halo infinite and grounded so far and they both have had choppy moments

First, are you using ssd as it helps overall performance of the pc. And a single stick of ram especially at Ddr3 performance will hurt a lot as well . Now with your question of bios update is probably not needed for such an old setup. Sometimes flashing old mb with new drivers actually makes it worse as they are trying not update and support newer wares
