The temperature of the chip itself or the card as a whole does not depend on the temperature of the memory. The memory temperature readings are taken from each chip and we set the maximum value, this may be the temperature of just one chip, not all. Due to poor cooling of the backplate, this chip may be there, but looking at the photo with the chips, you can clearly see the streaks from the side of the backplate. This means that the main side with a radiator does its job perfectly. Here are the screenshots where you can see, at a card temperature of 45 degrees, the memory temperature is 110 – 108.

After doing all pad upgrades, putting heatsinks on the backplate and 2 x 80mm fans to pull hot air away from the card. It’s finally sitting at 48 deg c. Junction point and 96 deg c. Memory.
Doing a today 121mh @ 295 watts.
Thank goodness I only bought 1 of them and will be the last in this model.
My EVGA 3080 XC3’s all don’t have this issue at all out of the box. Seems it’s only the 3090’s.

The Asus B250 mobo handles 19 GPUs but to be stable only 9 can be Nvidia, 11 AMD. Otherwise limited to 12 or so. See the manual for details, pdf available online

I’m running 5×3090. Hiveos @ -300 Core, 2100 MEM, 310 PL, 90% fan, I’ve changed pads as needed, one of mine is throttling down due to temps but the other 4 run at 120.6MH, the slow one runs at 105MH.
